Has anyone dealt with longterm subutex withdrawal?
My husband has a chronic back pain condition and has been on ALL the narcotics - oxis, methadone, morphines, etc. etc. for over 10 years. He has gone through withdrawal programs about 5 times, and at-home withdrawal countless. The last formal program substituted the opioids with subutex, and thus he was able to get off the morphines, but is addicted to subutex.
The interesting thing about subutex, which is in the opioid family, but is an antagonist to the morphines, is that when he stops taking it, he has about 10 days of pain free feeling great living, and then he goes into a spastic uncontrollable body flailing, semi conscious state for about 12 hours, and then he goes into unbearable pain after that, and therefore has to take the drug again for the pain. Has anyone experienced the same thing and made it over the hump?
