Another tweek in my back today

Well, I was doing great this morning I had very little pain and did my walk and finally didn't have too much pain during and after. But then I did something stupid I needed to look at my good leg because my husband said it was very dry, cracking and pink. So, I was sitting on a chair and had my "bad leg" and tush on the chair and put my good leg straight out to look at it. I shouldn't have done that although I'm not sure that did the 'tweek" but I put my glasses on to see my leg and I bent some and felt a "tweek." It really freaked me out because I just was starting to get better and sometimes these tweeks have been very painful later. So, I freaked out, cried a couple of times and went and laid down. I took Celebrex and am icing it. So, i hope the next couple of days don't get worse. I am scared and so  tired of this it is hard. I want to get stronger not keep staying even. It is hard and I'm not doing much as it is. Well, wish me luck in this not being too bad of an event and that I get  through the pain without too long a set back. How do I prevent this other than not being so out to lunch? I am so careful most of the time, it's that 1% that is a doozy.

I am so sorry to hear about your painful tweak. How are you doing today?

I get foolish sometimes and without thinking have done similar tweaks to my battered body. Like you, this usually occurs on one of my better days. I think that is why we "forget' to be cautious.

Unfortunately for me it doesn't matter how good of a posture I maintain. A "normal" movement for some one else can be disastrous for me. So Mkh9 I know how you feel.

Don't beat yourself up. It's easy to do. Just concentrate on getting back to status qua. I hope today you are feeling better. The frustration of our limitations can be maddening! But we learn and go on...with a smile. Smarter and wiser for the experience.

Peace,
~Tuck

Well, my pain was good yesterday but higher today. Sometimes I think it has to do with what you do in your sleep. As I mentioned before though it seems to normally be higher one day and lower the next. I have to go off of Celebrex today because at day 4 I get insomnia. I would like to take it longer. Guess, Ice and switch to Tylenol to take the edge off. I am out walking about 20 minutes. I refuse to go too far backwards. I have to somehow get out of this atrophy. I don't know if just walking longer and longer will do it or not. it seems like I need stretches to get my body moving or flexible.I am worried that I can't get out of this but I have to. The first time I got this I didn't have the atrophy because my doctor didn't tell me to sit for month. Do you know how much sitting is too much? Should I force myself to walk around the house even if I'm in pain? Just don't know what to do...

Well it's another day. I hope that means that you may be feeling a bit better. How are you doing?

Our brains tend to return to old patterns. As I said above... if my pain isn't  "up there" I can forget too. I hope you'll soon be on the mend and your marriage and life can come off hold. I hate to miss vacations!  :)

Thanks for being so kind. No today I am not better. I hope tomorrow but only a little worse than yesterday. If tomorrow isn't worse then I'll be on the road to this recovery in a couple of weeks. I'm taking Celbrex for few days. I was starting to feel better and was doing my stretches a tad better and wammo. I don't know why I did that motion, my brain sometimes acts like I am normal. I hope to be able to get back to normal if I can get past the tweeks and get stronger. I hope so otherwise I don't know what to do. I am a very athletic person and our marriage life is on hold or at least parts of it like vacation and going out to dinner, or even me cooking.
Peace to you as well.

The only way to really prevent most of it is to make sure you always have good posture and try not to do the things that put you in more pain to begin with.  That is often easier said than done, though, and that's why I say prevent "most" of it.
I know it's hard.  CP is hard nearly all the time.  Those few moments that my pain is controlled I take a deep breath and thank God.  Have you seen a PM yet?  You have probably said so, but it's hard to keep everyone straight in my head.
I hope you get some relief from the tweeks soon and don't end up in more pain later.
