so I am having an MRI tommorow morning at 10am to confirm, and if thats what it is then I need to have surgery to replace the exsisting hardware.......This really *****, I'm still healing from my fusion as it is and now they want to do it again....I will keep you updated as I find out, thanks again for all the advice.

Otis,

Thank you so very much for your kind words. I think that is one of the nicest things any one has ever said to me. Bless you.

However this is not my thread. Unfortunately there is no surgery that can help my pain condition. But what does help me is kind and caring members like you that even though they are in pain and suffering they take the time to help me and help others.

Again thank you. We are lucky to have you as a contributing member on the PM Forum. You are an asset to our community.

Peace,
Tuck

Hi Lola,

First of all, you're very welcome and many thanks for the update. That's what we are here for, to support one another and offer information. I am glad that you called the staff nurse for the the earlier appointment and didn't have to wait to find out your pain was just as you thought, from the hardware moving.

Hopefully this next surgery will not be as traumatic as the first one. It certainly should not be as extensive. But I do know how tired you can get from surgeries and treatments. My heart goes out to you.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Don't forget we are here for you. Often some one is even on this site during the night.  I'll keep watching for your continued updates. Feel free to send me PM's. Take care my dear. As my grandmother use to tell me, "This too shall pass."

Thinking of You,
Tuck

All the best with the surgery and fingers-crossed on a good recovery this time.

On a slightly different note, may I just say that when I was travelling rather poorly, it was your contributions to the pain forum(s) that helped me change direction for the better. I would imagine that to be true for other forum users as well. You've done good!

Regards,

OtisDaMan

I am so sorry to hear that you may have to have another surgery when your just now recuperating from the last one. I am however glad that you have found the problem that is causing your additional pain. I do remember your post and that your were so worried about this. I know this is of little comfort but atleast it is not something worse.

It is terrible that you have to go thru this again, I will keep you in my prayers.
Please do keep updating us and let us know if there's anything we can do to help:)

I am sorry to hear about your problems. I too had that problem. I just had surgery to replace my hardware as well. They had to go in and take out the old hardware that had been there for 8 years and put in bigger hardware and more hardware to make sure it anchored properly so the fusion would take this time. It really ***** having to go through all that, and I was so terrified of the pain after surgery because the time before was horrific. This time was so much better. I really only had horrible pain right after the surgery while they were hooking up the pca pump. And they made sure they were giving me the right dose for me to tolerate the pain even though I have been on meds for a long time. If you have a good doctor hopefully it won't be so bad. I know the recovery is no fun, but to get your fusion taken care of to make sure you can function is worth it. I hope everything turns out well for you.
