yes. Your body becomes dependant on Morphine after taking it for an extended time
Hi Tommat,
Our bodies become dependant on the narcotic we are prescribed. When we skip several doses for any reason our body reacts. For some ppl that reaction can begin in 6, 8 or 12 hours or even 24 hours in your case. Unfortunately it often reacts through agonizing withdrawal symptoms. The severity and length of that reaction will depend on the medication, how long we have taken it and our individual systems.
This does not mean that you are an addict. Please don't confuse dependancy with addiction. Best of luck to you.
Peace,
Tuck
I was on Avinza for years. I began having panic attacks and small seizures with it so I would skip doses and it sent me into horrible withdrawals that I ended up in the hospital so they could taper me off of it slowly. It's very dangerous to miss doses and to try to completely come off on it on your own.
The usual withdrawal symptoms usually last 3 days at the most and that's what a doctor told me so be careful on missing your doses and such, if you accidentally miss to many doses you could throw yourself into withdrawals without even knowing so just be careful and if for some reason that happens there is a new drug out called Suboxone and once you start taking it it stops the withdrawal symtoms completely.
Hope I could help.
