What exam and lab did they do in the hospital?
sounds like warning signs of myocardial infarction.you know your self more than anybody. go to another hospital see what they have to say.it doesnt hurt to see another DR. for 2nd opinion.
Did you goto your GP? I had the same thing and it turned out to be a panic attack, google it, im not saying thats what it is. If it scares you go back to the ER
Hello Iburke,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear about your frightful chest pain. I know how frightening it can be.
You are very young to have a cardiac issue. I am not a physician. This does sound like a gastric issues, GERD or something similar. If ER ruled out an emergency Cardiac issue they are probably correct. In my opinion you now need to have some diagnostic testing done.
I would start with your PCP and maybe on to a gastroenterologist. GERD can produce chest pain, severe chest pain that feels very much like a heart attack. I know because I have had it. And I was convinced that they were missing something but they were not. I just have severe GERD.
As said by jayman panic attacks can produce chest pain or aggravate it. When you have GERD or any pain episode, fear sets in and anxiety increases the pain which than makes us more anxious which than increases the pain....it's a vicious cycle.
Please see a physician. He/she will help ease your fears and get to the bottom of your pain. I hope that you will let us know how you are doing. We will look forward to hearing from you soon.
Take Care,
~Tuck
