Question about Suboxone

I am on Suboxeone for pain. I have chronic kidney stones that NEVER go away and back problems also. The suboxone seems to work okay, but what about break through pain??????? Isnt it true that I cant take anything else with opiats in it for pain. The Sub works but I can tell that it doesnt work THAT well and Im afraid of an attack and then I cant take anything else or it will make me sick. Please help Im scared of the pain coming back.

Hi Greg:

I have read your profile and begin to wonder why you wouldn't know how Suboxone works? I realize that you have had an addiction and fight very hard to keep clean so I guess it wouldn't make sense to take breakthrough opiates. Like Tuck said, talk with your Doc about the possibility of breakthrough that isn't habit forming. This is the best advise I can give.  Take care, and good luck in the future,

Hello Greg,

Yes it is true that the Suboxone will cancel out opiates. At least to the best of my research abilities. I have never taken the medication.

I would discuss this with my physician. He/she should be able to help you when you experience another episode of stones moving. I too have chronic kidney stones. As soon as I pass one there is another one (or more)  lurking in my kidney waiting to move and begin the debilitating pain attack again.

Good luck to you. Take Care, Tuck
