It certainly sounds like fibro. What kind of doctor are you seeing? If they've done tests and blood work and can't see anything else, it likely is fibro.
I've had this for 12 years. I was lucky to be diagnosed very quickly. Sad to say, there are still some doctors who don't believe in fibro. I have found the best thing for me is diet and exercise. I know it sounds impossible to exercise but it really helps. I started in a pool and it was agony to do it. I could only walk one length in the beginning. I built up to an hour and eventually added in an elliptical (helped tremendously with my hips) and light weights.
I tried a lot of meds in the beginning and searched for a "cure," but came to find out that everyone is different. You need a good doctor who's behind you so if you feel you're not getting answers, seek out others.
Fibromyalgia can certainly be a life-changing disease but when you find what works for you, things will fall into place. I still have flare-ups and am actually having a bad one at the moment. Sleep is also very important and a lot of fibro patients have trouble with that.
Don't give up. There is an end in sight.
Did they do the pushing test on the tender points? Where they put pressure on certain tender points and if it hurts a certain number of times, then it's a very good chance you have Fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed four years ago. There are a couple of drugs that they have for Fibromyalgia and they work very well. I've taken them both. I hope you get your answers soon.
yes,i have tryed med for fidro, and dont seem to help.i went to an arthritis center and they ran some test and everything came out good.said shes not saying its not fibro and saying its is.but she did say so belives me when i say i hurt.ive hurt most of the day mustly in hip(leg).im on depression meds, and i feel like no hope.want to lay down and just cry.i feel so tho of giving up,as if theres no help.its just hard to think i still have no answer
Have they ruled out fibromyalgia ? My mother has that and complains of the same symptoms. There is medication you can try to see if it improves your symptoms. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
