does your eye become fully red and sting after being shot in your eye with an airsoft gun at a distance?

Unless there was direct injury involved in either eye with pellets or gases, there is no reason for the eyes to turn red and sting and the symptoms could indicate an infection/ inflammation. In either case it would be advised to consult an ophthalmologist at the earliest convenience for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
