Hi Cindy,

I am so sorry to hear about your returning pain. I know how frightening undiagnosed pain can be. My heart goes out to you.

You said you had a CT. What part of your body did the CT cover? If it was an abd CT is looked at many of your organs, such as the liver, pancreas and gallbladder. However there are more specific tests for each of these organs. If you had complete blood panel done, which would have been normal if they were searching for the cause of your abd pain, you probably had your liver enzymes and so forth evaluated. I would hope that they also did a UA which should have been abnormal if you had kidney stones..... and an indication to look further at the Urinary Track.

I can't guess what may be causing your pain... but I do encourage you to return to your PCP and insist upon some answers. If he or she is unwilling to lot further to may be time for a second opinion. As said above do not ignore your symptoms or tolerate them just because thus far they have found no answers.

This could be a spinal issue that is referring pain to your abd area. All things should be considered.

Be assertive. You are your own best health care advocate. No one cares about your health as much as you do... so take charge. Please keep us posted. I'll be very interested to hear how you are doing. I wish you the very best and hope you can find some quick and correct answers.

Take Care,
~Tuck

Might very well be pancreatitis. My father had that many many years ago & seems his pain would come on violently like you made it appear yours was doing, he also always had the heatingpad on his pain area. Also do ckup on the spleen test also. Youve had this for how long? Constant? Sporadic? Any other stomach problems, or surgeries? Hv u had an upper gi before? Mayb inquire about those also if u hvnt, altho is baffling that the dr. hasnt ordered all of the above jst bcuz everything else came bck normal? Anywhoo, not a dr. but hav had vbg op 3 times, gb remved, spleen removed, so i do kno a lil about the gastro pain. Dont ignore this pain sweetie, keep at the dr till u get some answers. U r very young to hv such pain & results be normal,  feel better & be sure to inquire about the tests mentioned above!

Did they also check your liver? They can do liver enzymes to start if they haven't yet. Is the pain there all the time or only at night? Does it come on with stressful event or day after the stress? I ask because I have an abdominal migraine or migraine variant. It gave me terrible stomach pain and throwing up but no migraine headache. Women get it mostly. My pain was in the upper left side and they kept thinking pancrease, colon, etc. It wasn't all my multiple tests were negative. I had no appendix at the time. I wonder if you have a ulcer? Have you taken a lot of Ibupropin or anything like that? An ulcer and taking NSAID"s will make you stomach hurt a lot. I had to go on Zantac for months. Have you had an upper GI? Something to think about.

Did they check your gall bladder? I have a similar pain.. never had stones but every now and then my gall bladder will become inflamed. Not sure if they would show up on a cat scan??  I'd ask them to check your gall and for a liver/spleen scan. Upper right side is gall bladder/liver area.
Hope you feel better!

Could be your liver or gall bladder. Have you ever had issues with those before?

Ask your doctor about kidney stones. I had that happen to me a couple of months ago... the pain in my back was so severe that I was actually crying. It turns out I had small kidney stone causing me problems.
