Low Back Pain

In 2006 I had a fusion of the L5 with a metal plate & three screws inserted.  In 2007 I had to have a vertebroplasty of the L2 completed.  I have had numerous testing done due to the pain that I am still experiencing in the low back, such as: Navicath - twice in which they found scarring tissue & was able to open it with fluid injections - this seemed to relevie some of the numbness that I get in my right leg from the top to the toes, however it doesn't last long: medial branch blocks down, facet blocks done, radio frequency completed, along with a cadual epidural and two lumbar epidural's and the last thing I had done was a disocgram which proved to be negative for any disc disease or injuries.  I am still having pain and the pain medication is not helping.

I am overweight and I realize that most of my back pain is probably due to the fact of the extra weight that I am carrying, however, to even walk 1/4 of a mile is extremely difficult along with trying to ride a bike or any other type of physical excerise.  I realize that no pain no gain, however when it hurts to the point that you are in tears, I don't feel that it that it is really helping me only hurting me further.

Any suggestions as to how to control the pain so that I can get back to a normal life and excerise so that I can lose the extra weight?

Had L4/L5 Fusion NOV 20 2017. Pleased with results as my spinal cord is no longer visibly pinched between misaligned vertebrae. Continued Physical Therapy, but two months after surgery began experiencing debilitating searing pain when I lay flat. Any other position is fine. Also, I can't cough and deep breathe when laying flat without the pain shooting across my belt line. Otherwise pain is centered in right side above a total hip replacement one year before. Moving while laying flat very painful and almost impossible to get out of bed because pain is so debilitating and severe. The Surgeon was seen FEB 07, 2018 and took another XRay, looked at hardware and said everything looked good. Did blood tests in Lab to check for inflammation indicators. There were none apparent but gave me a weeks treatment with Prednisone. Using Advil or Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug seemed to help a little. Oxycontin with Tylenol seems to make the pain WORSE! And it made it hard for me to breathe. I'm age 55 with Fibromyalgia and mild Arthritis with neuropathy in feet. Took first day loading dose of Prednisone this morning and pain was worse laying flat for an hour. Will have to spend the night in Recliner again. I have pain when I move a certain way when I am up and about, but nothing like laying flat. When I do manage to sit up on edge of bed, I stand with a lot of pain not knowing if my legs will hold me up. Once I am up it subsides. There are so many nerves there. I thought the synthetic auto graft (NOT from my hip bone) with powderized bone and bone growth hormone may have had complications in the Spacer replacing the original worn down disk. Or there was bone OVER growth into my spinal cord. I'm guessing.Had L4/L5 Fusion NOV 20 2017. Pleased with results as my spinal cord is no longer visibly pinched between misaligned vertebrae. A physical therapist might have some ideas. See my post to you under your other thread.
