Hello and Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you found us but sorry to hear about your foot pain and limitations.
You are young. Younger bones tend to heal more quickly and completely. I too wonder if your physician ordered and you completed physical therapy?
How long ago was the fracture? If it was fairly recent it is not too late for additional physical therapy. Actually it's rarely if ever too late. It's just statistically proven that the sooner you have physical therapy following an injury the greater the success of returning the effected area to re-injury condition.
I encourage you to see consult your PCP. He/she will be able to prescribe PT or another round of it. You are too young to have such pain and dysfunction. Please see what can be done to improve your condition.
If you can provide additional information our suggestions may be better. Did you have surgery on the foot? What treatments have been tried? Are you continuing to exercise it? Does it still swell?
Have you seen a sports medicine physician? Often they are good at treating injuries of the foot. Please let us know how you are doing and if you'd like to provide additional information it would be appreciated.
Take Care,
~Tuck
Hi Scratcher,
I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are very glad that you have found this Forum. I need for you to understand that there are NO Doctors on this Forum and that we are ALL CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other thru our own experiences and expertise that we have gathered from our own CP issues.
I'm VERY sorry to hear that you had a broken foot. However, I am HAPPY that your foot has healed.
Did you undergo any Physical Therapy? Normally, they would have set you up with a Physical Therapist to help you rehabilitate your muscles and joints so that you could move it freely once again.
I KNOW that Physical Therapy can be VERY painful and many times people will quit because of the pain BEFORE their Therapy has finished. I fhtat has happened to you, I GUARANTEE you that you AREN'T alone as MANY people do this. However, IF htis happened then your foot would be left feeling VERY stiff and you wouldn't be able to amnipulate it very well.
Is there any way that you Doctor can set you up with Physical Therapy so that you can get your MOTION back and be able to walk without the stiffness that you are experiencing now?
I hope that you will let us know what caused the stiffness so that we can help you more. If we know the reasons that this is happening then it makes it MUCH easier trying to help you with what's happening. :)........Sherry
