Hello Carol,

Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Mangement Forum. I am so very sorry to hear about your painful condition. We know how difficult it is to live with the daily chronic pain and the challenges it presents in out lives. My heart goes out to you.

I assume you do not have any insurance. Have you searched all avenues for medical assistance? In my state the counties will often provide you with a voucher for care if you do not qualify for state insurance. Have you researched those options? There are also free clinics in larger cities. Is that available to you?

I have to admit that I have not heard of a cyst as large as yours. It must be horribly painful. I also do not understand how physical therapy will treat the condition. Do you understand it? That's what's important. Was the physician able to explain the rational behind PT? I think most of us would be willing to take on a debt if it had a good possibility of a successful out come. If your physician is just offering it as a chance I would be hesitant to incur the cost.

So I encourage you to get all the facts, ask for the success rates. What caused this large cyst and why is PT the best treatment of choice? If PT will offer you a high chance of recovery do you have any other choice but to follow his recommendations.

Ask lots of questions. Become education and very knowledgeable on your condition, treatment options and success rates. Once you have all the information you can better make an informed decision.

Please keep in touch. Feel free to post additional questions. We will look forward to hearing from you again soon.  I wish you the very best.

Take Care,
~Tuck

Hi Carolesw,

I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and to let  you know that we are glad that you have found this Forum. I need to let you know that there are NO Doctors on here ONLY CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other thru our own expertise and experiences that we have gained thru our OWN CP conditions.

I'm SOO sorry that you are having this painful condition!! It's EXTREMELY difficult to be able to get medical care when you don't have any insurance.

Do you have a County Facility that you can go to that can get you the help that you need since you have no funds at this time. You might check with some of your hospitals that deal with patients that are in the same boat that you are. There should be some taht will treat you at no cost. Have you checked with the Department of Human Services to see what is available to you as far as Medical Services. There SHOULD be programs that are available to people that are having a difficult paying for Medical Services. Of course, IF you have any relatives that you FEEL COMFORTABLE asking for some assistance that's ALWAYS a possibility. I KNOW that MANY of us DON'T have the luxury of being able to do that!! BUT if you could that would be of GREAT help to you.
I hope that you can get the HELP that you need as this is a VERY painful thing that you need to get taken care of!!

I wish you the BEST and HOPE that you wil keep us updated on your condition.....Sherry
