There is probably no definite cure of paresthesia of an injured nerve. However, antidepressant(off-label use) for example, amitryptyline , gabapentin, and some other cns acting drugs may cure paresthesia of lingual nerve .Seeing a neurologist is advised.
I too had a Septocaine injection a month ago and have terrible pain in my gum where the needle went in. Been on 2 courses of steriods but pain is still there. I was wondering how your situation with Septocaine has become. Do you still have the numbness. Did you have pain at the site. For some reason, when the injection went in I felt as though I had just been electrocuted by a hot poker. I knew immediately there was something wrong. Apparently tons of people have had problems with this drug. Makes you wonder why it is still being used. Let me know how things are going for you. margaret
Moxa: my name is Lori and I am suffering from lingual nerve damage (paresthesia) of the tongue (left side) after my dentist injected Novacaine 6 weeks ago. I've tried a homeopathic treatment--no luck. I am now going to try topical lidocaine to temporarily reduce the pain. I might try acupuncture.....
Take care.
