lump on an operation site

so my father had an operation right above his heart but the operation had notthing to do with his heart. well today in the morning he found a small lump right by it followed by pain on his left arm and on the left side of his face. my father is 42 and im scared that the lump could be cancer. any thoughts?

How long ago was the surgery? If it was fairly recent it may be nothing more than scar tissue forming and trapping a nerve. I can't imagine it's cancer but his symptoms need immediate assessment by a doctor to make certain his heart is OK. He needs to see his doctor ASAP!
