lyrica to topazam

I have been on lyrica for diabetes neuropathy for around 2 years. Its really helped with my pain but I have put on at least 10 kilos and feel really uncomfortable with my weight. My appetite is through the roof which means I'm also struggling with my sugar levels. I usually have such control over my diet but in the last year I just cannot control my cravings. has anybody switched from lyrica to topazam and had success. With pain as well as less weight gain?

Lyrica has been known to put weight on women -- it's one of the side effects.

Lowering the dose will lose the effectiveness.

Switching to an antiseizure med may help but may not. There are a few available.

Lyrica is effective, as you've proven. I feel it is more important to treat your pain, and to find other means to keep the weight off, then live in pain and 'float like a butterfly.'

That's my opinion, but I deal with pain. Perhaps a weight-loss person would support the opposite opinion?

Best wishes
