I jkust saw your post...sounds like endometriosis. Are you on birth control? If not, you should consider it. Even a low, steady dose (best for the emotional state) would be worth a shot. I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 15, they put me on birth control and it made things so much manageable. Now I just get "regular" cramps.
Do you adjust your diet leading up to your time or overall for that matter? What makes it worse that I know of are caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, and a few others and ironically they seem to be some of the things you will crave during that time. The women I have know with the least symptoms to almost no symptoms have all be moderately active. One was a half marathoner and regular daily jogger. Also despite what is bad about birth control pills, if used for their hormone regulation effects that can make periods shorter and less severe in symptoms. There is one or two new ones out that are supposed to eliminate that monthly event all together. However common sense tells me that is not a good idea. I am also not in favor of drugs that basically turn off your stomach just so you can eat the harshist foods out there. I am amazed these type of drugs ever get approved. However if they came up with a drug that kept man and woman kind from wanting to wage war, I would be all for that. I hope this was helpful.

Have you been checked for Endometriosis? I went through YEARS of this beginning in my teens. I am now almost 51. Anyway, back in the day, of course, they always said take a Tylenol. :) But it wasn't until I found a good Reproductive Endocrinologist that sorted it all out. What she told me, back then, was...with normal cramps you should be able to take a Tylenol and that's about it...they should go away. But with endo, yep, I would hit the floor, be in cold sweats, sick, etc., etc. It is extremely painful and the only true way to diagnosis it is through laparascopy. And I have had several through the years since it always came back. After awhile I knew the difference. When I had it lasered out I was fine for a long time, just mild cramps. But once it was back...I knew it! And I was right every time. Anyway, it is just a thought because it could be several things. But your description hit home with me...especially about lying on the floor.
