Thank you for responding!  I had to discontinue due to side effects, nausea.  What did work for long lasting was oxycontin, same family as percocet but ofcourse DEA took care of that for us that truly are hurting.  My insurance will not cover and the cost and redtape is horrible.  I believe they gave me 90 days rx and then, no more.  When I went to walgreens to refill the percocet after handing in the morphine to my doc, they were absolute jerks, took six hours to get them filled.  Wanted to talk to doc, nurse called, NOPE doc.  I know they are doing their jobs but to be treated this way when truly there is the need for pain control and dont view 4 5mg a day of percocet a real big threat to warrant this type of behavior at walgreens.... :(

Thanks Ginger

I could not tolerate the nausea/crummy feeling.  UGH.  back to percocets and they are very different in how they make you feel.  I know alot is psychological but they work.  She did give me a few percocets for breakthru pain and maybe mixing that with the morphine was not good.  Regardless, I am still stuck with when they wear off in middle of night, wake to pain, etc.

Meds affect everyone differently and it takes time for your body to get used to the new med. You will just have to see how you do on the morphine and go from there. I couldn't take it when my dr prescribed it for me. I did better on other meds.
Best of luck to you!

Have you already switched?  You should be okay.  Do you have anything for breakthrough pain?  What's the reason for switching?
