I agree with path and Brandy. You need to be on a schedule. If you don't take them before the pain gets bad they won't work as well. As Steve says, perhaps you do need a pain management dr.
Hi Brandy! How are you doing?
You seem to have contradictory feelings about this. You have really severe pain but do not want to take the medications that treat it. You need to see a pain management specialist.
I TOO AM ON OXYCODONE, & I FIND THAT IF I TAKE THEM BEFORE THE PAIN STARTS TO INCREASE AGAIN THAT THEY SEEM TO DO MORE FOR ME! I ALSO READ ABOUT THIS,THE ARTICLE SAID IF YOU DO THIS IT WILL MAKE YOUR PAIN MED MORE SUFFICIENT!
how is your medication prescribed? are you supposed to take it as needed or on a regular time schedule. first of all, you need to take it before the pain becomes severe. if you want to stop taking the pills you could either do a slow taper and just quit cold turkey. there might be some withdrawal symptoms depending on how much and how long you've been taking it. you can go to the addicition forum and post your questions or concerns. there are alot of people there going through what you're experiencing and can offer you a lot of insight. good luck.
