6 year old boy acting out only in school

My son is in 1st grade. He had told us several times that one of his classmates kicked him, punched his stomach, and asked him lunch money. We had told him to tell his teacher when it happened again. I got behavior report from his teacher saying My son punched one of his classmates. I requested conference meeting with his teacher. While we were week before meeting my son and another boy were punched on stomach by the same boy whom my son mentioned before. The boy got suspended twice for the last two weeks. We wanted to talk about my son's behavioral issue, but we were told by Principal and his teacher that my son might need to be retained for another year of 1st grade. We wrote a letter to superintedent to compalin our concerns ignored and to request another meeting to address my son's behavioral issue in school and reetaining grade. The immediate problem is that my son has been in trouble at school everyday ever since we brought up the other boy of possible bullying my son. We feel like my son's teacher is not fast enough to send us report on my son's behavior at school, everyday something talking, punching, saying a-word during recess, class, and lunch recess. My son is very active but not agressive. He is doing fine at home. My son got in trouble spit and saying A-word according to Principal's message. My son told us the boy who kicked my son several times came back to school today and he sat right cross from my son in lunch table and he said B-word to my son and my son called A-word to him. My son is happy child, active, never meet stranger. My son said he did not want to go to school tomorrow. What should we do?

It is obvious there is a problem with the school and also there is bullying going on, if you cannot change schools, you may have to speak firmly to the school principle and the teacher, also the boys parents ..it reads as if it is this other boy who is the cause and possibly your son has to fight back.Stand by your son, make sure you are protecting him, if this isnt sorted out by the school your sons school work and grades will be affected and he wont want to go,you will end up with a battle on your hands ...Have to thought of home schooling ? Ask the school to supervise more how can bullying occur if there are teachers and Aids watching ..Good luck,
