any one have children with a big age difference??

I am a mother of a six year old who will be seven in the summer.  I have wanted another child for some time now but wasn't in a relationship or had the means to have one.  I am currently in a relationship with a wonderful man who just had his first child with his ex (they discovered she was pregnant after their breakup and I met him after) .  We are planning on getting pregnant in about two years and I'm concerned about the age difference between my son and the new child. By then my son will be 9 or 10.  Any one have children far apart? Any thoughts??

Hi, i am 48years old and i have 2 kids one is 28 and the other is 9. that is a big age gap.  thay are not close my daughter loves her brother but hardly ever see's him. and raiseing another one after 18 years is like learning how to raise one all over again. so my advise is do it soon.

Hi , yes i do have a difference in ages between my boy's my oldest is 18 and my youngest is now 9. My oldest was  very excited with it all and we included him in as much as possible from dr. visits to ultra sound appt., ect... and after the baby was  here he was just as anxiouse to help bathe, feed and mostley everything  except change the diaper, lol. and as the youngest got older he was really great with him and i have bad health and beleive me he was a god send many a times for me and his brother. Today they are still close and  my oldest and his friends will take him places and play games with him, ect. matter fact my oldest and his friend since 6th grade ( a girl ) took him to his first movie theater. so go for it and enjoy they are truley a blessing. hope all goes well.
