3 year old with leg pain

My daughter has been complaining of leg pain on and off for about two weeks now.  Yesterday it brought her to tears and again today.  Everytime I ask her where it hurts, she points to either her thigh, knee or calf area.  The pain is intermittent, no swelling that I can see, no fall that I remember.  No other symptoms.  My first initial thought was growing pains, but wouldn't it be in both legs?  And would it bring her to tears?  Also, I thought growing pains were suppose to happen mainly at night.  I was researching on-line and found osteomyelitis.  She did have a severe ear infection about a month ago in which the dr told me she has a blister in her ear it was so bad...could this turn into osteomyelitis?  Any suggestions?

My 3 year old daughter has the same problems.  It started with her leg, then her knee,  and tonight she complain about her foot.  She wants me to massage them every time she has pain and it seems to make it better so she can go back to sleep.  She doesn't sleep well and I notice the moaning and moving at night.  She gets up all through the night because of this.  She just turned 3, but it started when she was 4 months from turning three.  Haven't taken her to the doctor yet wanted to research and see if it was normal first.  She is very active!!!  Just didn't know if it is something I should be concerned about.

It's possibly Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). My mom has it and I think my two year old has it. They want their legs aggressively massaged (my mom used to use a rolling pin on her legs). She also said taking a shower or walking helps.

My almost 6 year old son had this problem at 3.5/4 years old.  I went to the doctor several times, xrays, even got referred for physical therapy.  HIs pain kept getting worse and worse.  On July 4th , 2011 he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia!!! DO NOT just brush this off as growing pains!!! Thats what his Dr. did and if they had just done a simple blood test, we may have known two years sooner!!
