Multiple Symptoms Doctors not listening

Hi there.  I'm writing about my 10 year old daughter.  She has had the following symptoms since the end of October.  She has been very tired, yet she has trouble sleeping at night, the has lost weight (so far about 5 lbs and she is very thin normally), she has brittle nails (always), she is always cold, she constantly complains of feeling like something is "stuck" in her throat, she has experienced periods of rapid pulse and high blood pressure, she also is CONSTANTLY dizzy, and goes several days a week where she has no appetite.   She's seen 4 doctors now and they are all basically dismissing everything and saying "just wait and see" though we've waited 10 weeks now and it's not getting better.  She does not have mono, though apparently has had it at some point in her life, her iron levels are normal, and she doesn't have a high or low white cell count, and she had a normal MRI.  Her physician put her on zyrtec and nasonex to see if that would help but it has not helped anything.  I should also add that she had her most recent appt on Friday and was found to have blood in her urine and enlarged glands under her chin, but negative strep test and negative urine culture.

Can anyone help?  We're so frustrated that no one will help and we don't know what to do for her.

she's just not herself.. she gets along with her sisters other than the occasional tiff just like everyone has.. she does well in school.. but she's tired and grumpy especially in the morning because she's exhausted.. tonight it's almost 11pm and i'm sitting up with her because despite the sleeping medicine that has been just completely knocking her out so much that she's groggy even the next day, despite having taken that she still cannot sleep.
At this point we have found another doctor who we feel is truly listening and ordering lots of tests but they are all normal.. a relief yes but frustrating at the same time because we're clueless..  right now they're thinking it's some aftereffect of the Epstein Barr Virus.. but how long this could last is anyone's guess..  we're so frustrated because we do not know how to help her.

Definatly ask for another opinion ,your Doc must have thought it was allergys hence she was given Zyrtec, how does she do at school and get on outside the home ,apart from the Pysical symptoms is she happy any problems you can think of if there are siblings does she get on well with them and other Family members.

I don't know what your daughter has, but don't stop trying to find out.  If one doctor brushes you off go to another one, walk in clinic, emergency whatever it takes.  Your daughter is not well and she is counting on you to fight for her.  I have been fighting and forging ahead to find a diagnosis for my daughter for almost two years now and she has told me that one of the things that keeps her going is the fact that I so adamantly believe her and doggedly keep hounding doctors for a diagnosis.  You are your daughters only advocate mom, go for the doctors jugular (so to speak) and don't let them brush you off with a lets wait and see.  Good luck to you both.
