can it cause brain damage? what do i need to watch for?

my daughter is 7 mo. old and tonight she hit the back of her head on the bed rail..  can this cause brain damage? i have been keeping an eye on her head where she hit it ... she seems to be ok... its not swelled or anything.. it was red at first.. but now it looks better.. but it sounded like it hit pretty hard and she was crying really loud,,, i am concerned about the possible damage that could have been done...

By now she would have nausea, and be sleepy, how is she today , if she doesn't seem well get her checked out..How did she come to do this ?

always keep an eye on on a child that hit their head especially when their sleeping...kid hit their head all the time...and it can be serious...but if she complains of headaches then take her to the hospital...even if it dont swell always use a cold pack or a hot water bottle...kids heads are sensitive...hope you daughter is alright....
