They do seem to be starting their periods earlier than we used to , very often it is genetic and follows in a family history same as menopause seems to .Very often the heavier the child the earlier they start.,not so in your daughters case. Its probably okay but maybe a good idea to mention it when you are visiting the doctor .
My daughter is 10 years old and she started her period in january she is very light and skinny i haven't taken her to the doctor yet i want to get advice from you is it normal for this you happen so young at her age
My daughter is 9 years old and will be turning 10 in 3 weeks. She just started her period 2 weeks ago. I have a feeling it's pretty normal for them to be irregular because of their age. I will be keeping a log of how long they last, if she keeps regular, heavy/light etc so when she sees her pediatrician in December we can discuss anything that may be abnormal.
I'm not a doctor, but I have a 9 yr old step-daughter that has been told that she will soon be getting her period because of her weight. I think, from what I have heard that irregular periods at a this young age is normal, but throw a call into her pediatrician just in case. Good Luck with the hormone changes!!
