My daughter will be 4 months old in a few day and she does that stuff too but we also have a bumbo, she loves sitting in it and looking around the room and out the window. Also the weather just started to clear some here, (were having a ton of rain) now that it is clearing up we have been going for walks with her in the stroller, she seems to love the flowers and grass.
My baby is 7 months old (so slightly older) but ways I've kept her entertained were by singing to her, reading, dancing around the house with music on, tickling, baths (she loves to splash and play in the bath water) letting her look at herself in mirrors (she likes to laugh at her reflection and try to eat it) letting her play with my phone, the laptop, empty bottles filled with small things for her to shake: for some reason she doesn't like her rattles, but would rather play with things me and DH use on a daily basis. I've also let her just play with old papers and boxes. She prefers them over all her toys.
LOL Clysta...isn't it funny how they love to play with everything BUT their toys?! Brady LOVES our cell phones! My husband has an iphone and has special apps for him that he is just mesmerized by!
Kathy- at his stage I don't think they are into playing very much but observing. My son is 5 months old and just started in the last month to really actually play and be able to keep himself occupied for a bit. He loves his exersaucer! Never really liked his bouncy chair and can only spend so long with those play mats.
Kylie is the same way. DH and I both have iPhone's and she's obsessed with them, and especially loves to gum them. She really likes to see pictures of herself on them as well.
I have 16 week old twins and I try to do a variety of things to keep them entertained. They both LOVE their swings. Each swing has a mobile attached to it & we have a few of their fave toys on them (my son loves keys & my daughter loves her big rattle-ring). They also have play mats that I lay them on at random times during the day, so they can look at the toys. They also smile a lot when I dance crazy for them (haha!) & we try to read to them as often as possible.
