I'm a first time mother too, my little guy is 2 months old today. He had episodes like what you are describing. It's most likely a growth spurt. They will go through them for a couple days and should calm down. I read that it should happen a few times during their first year.
Sometimes I notice that he's just gassy after burping so I lay him on my chest/shoulder and rub his back. But every baby is different. Good luck!
I just thought only breast feed babies cluster feed, just guess not lol. She has clamed down! Thank you. She likes laying on her tummy that seems to help.
I've experienced this also! my daughter is a month old and sometimes I get nervous like am I just feeding her bc idk what else to do. good to know its normal though!!
Jnene I felt the same way, wondering if I'm just feeding her cause I'm not sure what else to.do.
A full belly is the key to a happy baby! At least that's what I'm learning
the dr has told me to keep her at 4 oz every 4 hours. or 2 oz every 2 hours, etc.. BUT if shes crying bc shes hungry I'm giving it to her!! I feel like, as long as shes keeping it down shes not overeating. I refuse to let my daughter cry bc shes hungry bc the dr says to only give her a certain amount. no way.
Your doctor can't do that! Every baby is different and will not over eat. She will simply not eat if she isn't hungry. Trust your instincts :)
now just a question.. she does refuse the bottle when she doesn't want it.. but sometimes its like shes never satisfied. and she will eat n eat n eat and then spit up and get bad gas pains so then what do I do on those days where it seems like its never enough but too much for her belly?
Babies will have growth spurts during their first year and should last a couple days and go back to normal, this is when they will want to eat a lot. As for the gas you can try gas drops at any pharmacy or market or maybe your little one needs a different formula or bottle nipple. My guy was sucking in a lot of air with his last nipple and it fixed it when we changed his nipples. He's starting to get fussy with feedings again so we might have to change something- it's all trial and error.
ok thanks :o) do I get different bottles all together or just nipples? do you have any suggestions on which ones work pretty good?
Sorry for the late response.. I got nipples with a medium flow, even though the age on the box was older than my baby. He responded much better. As long as the nipples match/fit the bottles there isn't a need to change them. I went with avent natural, but I think the brand doesn't matter, just try something different and see. I see a lot of people swear by Dr Browns brand but avent works for us. Let me know how things work out!
