My husband and I just recently got married, But we have been together for quite some time.  Now I normally don't get my period but something strange has been happening to me. In June, I bleed one tues for 4 hrs then stopped then thurs for 2 hrs then stopped for 2 weeks. After two weeks I bleed for 1 week light, heavy, light.  Then that same month i bleed end of the month. 2 Months later I am bleeding again. I started Light then heavy, then light then heavy again. and Now I have been bleeding for 2 weeks, this time around. Usually when I get my period after 4 or more months I bleed heavy for 5 days and then stop. But this time around I bleeding heavy with blood clots. Can you tell me what is wrong with me.

HI I also never have a period unless induced by drugs!  I got a light bleed in August but not sure if that counts!

I suggest you go see you GYNO right away! You shouldn't be bleeding for 2 weeks straight.  Ask for a ultrasound to check your lining, it could be thick!

Normal Blood Clots During Period

During your period, your body will release anticoagulants that keep the blood fluid and thinned. However, if your flow is extremely strong, the blood may pass before the anticoagulants can work. In this case, the blood may clot as it is passed.

However, there are times when menstrual blood clots should be a reason for concern. If you are passing clots that are bigger than a quarter on a regular basis, it could be a sign of something else.

In this case you should consult with your doctor immediately to find out the cause.

Women with PCOS can have speratic ovulation, so that why you might get a normal like period every blue moon!  I think the spotting and bleeding one day and not the next is kinda weird... It would be a red flag for me! I do sometimes get spotting though!  I have a thickened lining and have to have a D&C to have it removed....it is because of PCOS and that i'm not on the pill!

Hope this all helps!
