Hi everyone! I will be starting on Metformin tomorrow for the first time and am wondering if anyone else out there is on it? If so how is it going? Any good/bad news would be great to hear. Thanks

i took metformin last year for a lil bit but had severly bad side affects with it turned out to be horrible heartburn but i only figured that out after a thousand dollar emergency room bill  because i was having trouble breathing. turns out only a small percent of women have severe gastrointestinal problems with it..lucky me:) ne way i dont wanna be a negative nancy just wanted to let u know. i have lost twenty pounds though since then with strict diet and exercise plus accupuncture and herbs hope this was helpfull.

I've been on Metformin since September 2008. I've lost at one point over 60lbs. I've started to gain some back, not because of the medicine....mostley because of stress eating and not working out. But if you stay on track with eating right, and work out...you will lose some weight with it. Side affects will vary...I only had side affects for 2 weeks. And that was mostly diarhea and nausea. You can becom sick sometimes if you eat a high fat content meal. I also think Metformin helped my cycles to become more regular. I get my period every 28-30 days and lasts 2 days...compared to 2 weeks like before.

Good luck.
