How to use Spironolactone in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

I am 20 yrs single,girl diagnosed with PCOS(Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.I am overweight,hirsutism,menstrual irregularies,depression.As prescribed I am taking Spironolactone Tablest and Metformin.I am scared of huge side effects of Spironolactone(being systemic drug).Kindly put your experience of using Spironolactone? . How should I adjust dosage and manage side effects.For how many years will I used it.
