Metformin side affects?

Ive been on metformin since 9/14 500mg 1x. Now my doctor changed that to 500mg 2x a day. I started taking it 2x a day yesterday, and took the second pill around 9:00pm and went to bed at 9:30pm. My question is does this affect my sleeping? I slept like a baby last night. Solid sleep through the night, which I never do. Anybody else have this affect too? Could it just been one of those things, or the second pill?
