i was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome on 2008 when i was 20 years old. with weight of 75kg back then and height of 1.56m. i have coarse hair under my chin, leg, on the upper lip, legs, thighs, and stomach. the doctor gave me Diane 35 pill for 3 cycle. when i'm on that pill, my menses came accordingly, but when i stop taking that pill, the menses stops as well. then the doctor gave me Metformin together with Diane 35 for 3 cycle as well. but there is no changes (my weight remained the same, i was a softball player during that time, and i have everyday training early in the morning and after 5pm). the doctor suggest me to do Pelvis Ultrasound on January 2009. the result are as follows:-
"there is a mixed echogenic mass in the left adnexal. it measures 5.5cm x 4.2cm. the normal left ovary is not seen. the right adnexal is normal. the uterus appears normal. finding suggest a left adnexal mass, most likely arising from the left ovary. its heterogenous echogenicity suggest malignant changes."
i stop seeing the doctor for 3 years due to financial problem. on 24 December 2013 i went to the clinic again and the doctor done the Transvaginal Ultrasound on me and the findings are as follows:-
"secondary amenorrhoea for three years. retroverted arcuate uterus. polysictic right ovary seen. left ovarian solid/cystic tumour seen. no obvious acsites."
What does both results means? Should i worry about it so much?
You have all the signs of PCOS and will require treatment. Irregular menstruation is a feature of PCOS. Pills will usually help get regular menses. Weight reduction will help to a great extent. Also metformin and Diane 35 pills should help.
The solid ovarian tumour that has been there since three years and not regressed may require removal. Hence you should consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation.
