1st AF after giving birth

I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on January 20 and have been EBF since. I did get stiches after the delivery and I bled for about 3 weeks. It gradually decreased over this time and then stopped. A few days ago I started sporadically spotting. Could this be my AF? Or is it probably the stiches healing?

I am a FTM, what is the first AF like after giving birth - heavier/lighter/the same as normal?

Thanks so much!

Thanks for your answers! I did see my OB and she told me that since I am EBF, I might not get AF until after I stop....or I could get it right away. She also told me that sometimes the 1st AF is heavy and that sometimes if the person is EBF the first AF is just light spotting for a couple of days. So basically, I have no answers, but everything is considered normal. I also told her that I bled for 3 weeks and then it went away and the following week I had 2 days of spotting. She said that may have been my AF.

I delivered a pre-mature baby on the 15th of january.....I had an extremely heavy flow for the first week after the birth.....then spotted for a couple days......
then after another three weeks (1 month and two days from the birth ) I got my first AF.  It was much heavier than I usually had and only lasted four days instead of my normal 6.
I was told a little spotting for the first 2-4 weeks was normal, and i would know when my first cycle started again because it would be a heavy flow at first......
hope this helps....i think you are probably just spotting and will have to wait for AF......

Hmmm...I don't think it would be AF yet.  Especially not if your BF.  I had my c-section on the 22nd.  I still bleed off and on (it surprised me to have postpartum bleeding after c-sc. Who knew?).  It stops for a day or two, then I have more spotting.  I think it's all just normal, but you can always just check with your Dr.  Good luck.
