usuk- one twin being absorbed by the other twin or by the woman's body is called VTS or Vanishing Twin Syndrome. I'd never heard of such a thing myself until a couple of weeks ago. If you google that term you'll find lots of links on the internet about it.
Cinda - I don't see why it isn't possible for a woman to release another egg if the hormones are a bit out of whack. The more I've been reading lately, the more unusual things I'm seeing. As early pregnancy testing gets better they are discovering new things like VTS. But whetever is going on with you, I hope it goes well !
Dr said I may have ovulated a week later and it was fertalized also. She said she's seen wierder things happen....Idk. She didn't say exactly how old the second sac is. She just said during the next sonogram she would check for a fetal pole. It's definately younger than the 6 wk. Believe me, sitting there, trying to hear what she was saying and comprehend it was not easy. I told her it was quite unbelievable. I'm on the borderline of insanity over this. But I guess I have to surrender to what is meant to be will be. I've already learned quite a bit on this site and appreciate any info anyone might have.
Thanks

Thank you, if you could find that I would appreciate it. I have been trying to read up on as much as possible. The normal size sac doesn't have a fetal pole. Dr said I may have ovulated a week later and its behind. They will be checking for changes to both this next monday. She did say the one may be absorbed and the other be able to go on in a normal preg.

How can you have gotten pregnant at two different times???? Why would your doctor tell you that....this is just puzzling. If they are both measuring a six weeks, why would the not be twins, but one that grew a much quicker or lack of a better word abnormal rate??
I really sorry you are going through this and I hope you get some answer really soon!
sorry to hear about this. i did have one sac that was too big and no heartbeat. does the normal size sack have a fetal pole or not? i have heard of one healthy embryo absorbing the other loss though. if i can find the link i'll send it to you.
