OPK Question...

So I always always use the digital OPK's.  It so much easier...blank face for negative, smiley face for positive. No trying to match up the color of the lines.  Well, this cycle I went to buy them and they were out of my brand (arrghh).  It's hard to run around to different stores, so I bought the First Response instead.  I usually get a positive around CD12 (tomorrow), but started testing earlier then normal as my cycle was so much shorter last month.  So I am fairly certain I haven't missed O.  However, when you use the OPK's with the two lines, I thought the test line got gradually darker until it went positive.  Mine has not been.  It is clearly negative, and not getting darker.  Given that I suspect tomorrow might be the positive day, shouldn't it be getting gradually darker?  Or is that not always the case?

Thanks ladies....next cycle I am back to my digitial!  These lines make me crazy...lol

Thanks Dana.  I would love to conceive this month!!  It's just frustrating.  I talked to Dr. Brown (MH on line gynecologist) and she said it's not abnormal for your cycles to be out of whack even this far pp.  So I will just keep checking and we are BD'ing anyway just in case.  I think even more then the lack of a positive right now is the fact that AF came on CD 23 last month.  I keep worrying about that luteal phase.  Oh well, good thing is my little man keeps me so busy during the day I have no time to obsess about it.  And in all honesty, if I don't get another baby I will still be very happy with the one I have.  He truly is amazing and the light of my life.  It's just I grew up an only child, and I really really want him to have a sibling.  But, what will be will be I guess...and we are still on that adoption list, so eventually that will come through.

they can bounce back and forth till you get that pos so dont go by the fact it is lighter one day then darker the next.  i always tested twice a day, however i used the strips you get like 20 for a decent price.

dont count yourself out, with macy i o'd later than i usually do according to the u/s (i still dont think so but it doesnt matter now haha).

i had a hard time doing temps but if you combined that with your opk you could see if you are oing or having a cycle that you dont.  im hoping this month is it for you!! it would be great to have a summer baby!

I am still waiting and hoping as well and no EWCM for me either, but typically that starts in another day or two...so I haven't lost all hope!  :)

Ebay is for sure the way to go.  I think the seller I purchased my 20-day pack from does not do international shipping, but I don't think that is the norm.  Plenty of other sellers were offering the 20-count pack for about $25 USD.  I was happy with that!

$50 for a 7 count??  WOWZERS!  I would go broke too!!

Raven, they are the best!  So much easier to use although a bit pricier for sure.  But I hate trying to sort out which line is darker, although this cycle so far it hasn't been a problem.

Birds, you can buy a 7 pack for $20?  Wow, we pay $50 here for the same amount.  Mind you we always pay more in Canada.  I will be going on Ebay for sure if nothing this cycle. That's great!

Tonights OPK was even lighter and no EWCM yet.  I am wondering what the heck is going on.  Normally I have some signs at this point.  I did realize tonight I have not been using concentrated samples though...I guess I am rusty..lol.  Tomorrow I won't drink any water or other liquids for 2 hours before.  I covered my bases today anyway, just in case.

SSBD to both of you as well!!!!

Well ladies thanks for your imput... I am now planning to look for digital testers in the next month... I am taking a TTC break cause have had to take meds that I don't want in my body while trying to get pregnant... But am planning on testing during this time to keep things all in line or get them better lined up ...

Going to also try the herb someone suggested for ovulation ... Can't remember the name but it
starts with Tri...  I heard about it on another posting...

Well thanks again ... And it's digital for me

Too funny!  yes, I would have waited until the last minute too.  lol.  I may have learned my lesson and I ordered the digital sticks well in advance.  Finally!  Ebay is my friend.  :)  I think our drugstore was selling the box of 7 for maybe $20?  I found them brand new, free shipping for a box of 20 for $25.  Just looked again and there are many more sellers with similar prices that do ship internationally.

I think worrying is totally natural!  I am worried too...and just hoping that this round of Clomid does the trick and a little eggie is soon to hatch.

wishing you lots of luck and SSBD!!!  And I hope you see that dark line any day!

I'm so glad the digital are working well for you.  I can tell you that next cycle I will be using them again...these lines are soooo frustrating, I remember why I never use other brands..lol.  I'm not using first thing in the am, using them around 4pm every day.  I truly thought I would see a fade in pattern, but nope. So of course now I am all worried I am not going to ovulate this month.  Good Lord, the way I read negatives into everything when it comes to this ttc.  It's just my cycles are so whacky right now, but O seems to be consistent at least.  It's just my luteal phase that is different month to month.  Oh well, as long as it stays 10 days min. it should be fine.

I usually have no problem finding the digital sticks.  It's just the drugstore by my house I usually go to was out of them, so I grabbed these being in a hurry and wanting to start testing that day (nothing like waiting to the last minute..ha).  I will look into the online purchase though, especially if cheaper.  These things are pricey!  I used them for 3 years ttc Ryder and between those and HPT's he is my million dollar baby..ha.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it!

Today is CD12 for me, but typically I have O'ed closer to CD 17 or 18...so still waiting.  based on your input, I purchased the digital OPK and I love it.  simple and easy to read.  Just started yesterday and hoping that i get the smiley face soon.  :)

The dark lines are frustrating, but yes, it should be as dark or darker than the test line.  Some women do experience a fade-in, fade out pattern and I did, but I had read that not everyone does.  Not sure if you're using first morning urine, which my previous sticks said NOT to use, but was happy to learn that the clear blue ones you could.  I wonder if time of day makes a difference with the First Response ones?

Can you order the digital sticks online?  That's where I found the best deal and free shipping
