I'm 39 I have a 15yr old and a 2yr old. Now I'm 11weeks pregnant with twins!  I found eating healthier makes a big difference in the pregnancy!!! My first daughter I ate a lot of mac n cheese gained 55lbs!!! Second one I gained 40 lbs but it can off quicker!!! I am healthy except for having a blodclot! They don't expect me to have many problems during my pregnancy!

I'm 38 due in ten days with baby number five!!  I'd call for a check up if you haven't seen soon as possible. Not for any bad reason. Just they consider us higher risk our maternal age is old.  I've been monitored the whole way thru and thankfully every thing has been fine,  Bcuz i also take meds i COULDN'T stop once pregnant and it was a surprise pregnancy which is pretty risky. That's the worst for me and baby :( shell have to stay in hospital they've already warned me 2to4 wks after birth.  But age wise things have been fine...  Take your prenatal vitamins rest be cautious don't start new strenuous activities.  Good luck :) keep us updated

Your first question is a little puzzling, since you apparently have already conceived.  For some women at 38 it is difficult to conceive, but apparently not for you.  Or even if it was, you're pregnant now!

Your doctor should be able to advise you based on your particular physical status, if there are any activities you should not undertake.  You should take prenatal vitamins, and I was told to avoid lifting anything more than 40 lbs. later in the pregnancy, because the joints are softer than usual.

There are many lists on the Internet of foods to eat and to avoid when pregnant, and also your doctor should have lists for you.
