50/50 chance of miscarriage #3?

I am 40 and on my 3rd pregnancy (the first 2 ended in miscarriage in 2006, 2007).  I was hopeful that this was OK, but now I'm afraid not.  Did a transvaginal U/S at 7 weeks -- heartbeat detected but low (104) and dating 1 week behind.  I have a followup U/S next week.  Doctor wants to be optimistic, but thinks 50/50 chance now.

I am rather distraught because I think I have no chance now.  Anyone have similar experience and still have successful pregnancy?  I have no miscarriage symptoms (not even spotting) but did not really before either.  D&Cs were required for both previous.  Although they went OK (and were better than waiting weeks with a non-viable pregnancy), its not an experience I thought I'd have to repeat (sigh).

I just had my second m/c in July. I am now pregnant again but at 6w1d I went for my u/s and found a baby measuring on time but hb of 89. I was given a 50/50 as well and it's very hard. The following week, after much anxiety the babys hb was now 125. I am now 24 weeks pregnant. I wish you the best. I am concerned the baby isn't measuring on time but only time will tell.

Thanks for the reassurances.  I've researched a bit and it seems that a heartbeat above 100 at week 6 is normal.  I think my doctor is more concerned about the dating.  I should be 7 weeks according to LMP, and at 7 weeks the HB should be higher than 104.  Arghh....guess I'll just wait until the next U/S, 50/50 does sound like my odds.

I don't think it is cause to worry yet since it is so soon. I measured a week behind and had a slower heart rate at first but that changed so don't lose all hope yet
