Cotton balls ? Cover your head ? I've never heard of any of that. There is nothing you need to do different other than take care of yourself by eating well and watching your new one. The only thing that I would say is to try to breast feed only as long as you can to avoid digestion problems. I exclusively breast feed my baby for the first 3 months until I had to go back to work. My baby spit up only once. And it was not until I started giving her formula that it happened more often. It's not a big deal. But breast milk is always best for baby. Other than that, enjoy your little one.

I had a csection so I was very sore for the first 2 weeks. But I did everything I did before (except lift heavy objects) I would take my time and rest when I was tired or too sore. But once I was healed we went for walks. Remember the fresh air will knock your baby out! We would walk all over (instead of driving places) and she slept for 7 hrs straight! It kinda freaked me out cause she missed a lot of feedings! Lol but she was fine. I just limited how much time we spent taking walks! I agree most things are common sense and if there was something you should be doing your dr would have told you and they will tell you/answer questions at your check ups. Whatever you eat for nutrition will be in the breast milk for the baby (just like when baby was in your belly) so eating healthy is important however I never did a strict diet! I ate sweets and stuff but made sure I drank lots of water and maybe only a pop a day. Listen to your body and your baby! Congratulations!

It is possible your well-meaning friends talk too much and highly value their own opinions. Just keep yourself comfortable. No cotton balls should be necessary or covering your head unless you are in a cold wind. Snuggle up with your sweet baby and nurse as often as he seems to want and need it. Newborn tummies are very tiny and can't hold much. Frequent feedings will help establish your milk supply. Of course feeding bottles will not kill your baby. You feed your baby whichever way you choose. Slowly get back to your normal level of activity. Don't try to do too much too soon, but walking is good for you.

The Majority of those are Myths. Motherhood is one of the hardest roles you will ever experience in your life. A lot of things you do will have to be based off common sense.

If you live somewhere Cold, make sure you stay warm. A lot of people breastfeed and use formula for night feedings, mainly because Babies sleep longer.

The best suggestion I can give you is, always change the Baby diaper before you feed them. Because you don't want to wake them up after tgey doze off.
