Adenymosis???

My stroy begins last year June to be exact my period came two weeks early and seemed normal.  In JUly I missed my period and thought I was pregnant - did a home pregnancy test and it was negative.... Aug still no period.. made an appoinment with my Dr in September and started what I thought was my period but it lasted until November :(.  I made several trips to the hospital becuase I had pain in my ovaries..... Had a untrasond and found that I had two cysts one on my right ovary and one on my left ovary..... Had surgery in November to have the cysts on the right removed as it was septated the one on my left was considered normal and would go away on its own.  Recoved well from surgery but my periods are irregular and have lasted longer than 30 days.  Went to hospital due to pain and they did a sonogram in Aug only to find I still have the cysts on my left ovary and I have what they feel is adenymosis...the only cure is a hysterectomy.  I am 38 years old and would love to have another child my daughter is 16.  My question is this is there hope for me to have another baby - I was just married in April of this year and we would love to have a child together.  Has anyone else been diagonsoed iwth adenymosis and had a successful pregnancy?  I am keeping my hope s up for now...........

The last time I seen the specialist he did mention that I may have to have a D and C.  I am hoping this will at least solve the problem long enough for me to conceive........

Back in 2006-07 I had lots of months where I would bleed reallly heavy for months at a time as well. They did a D & C (I wasn't pregnant) to clean me out and it controlled the heavy long periods. Maybe that could be a place to start for you to see if that helps with the bleeding. Then if it controls it for awhile then it may increase your chance of conceiving. Good luck.

I have had a transvag songoram that indicated that I have adenomyosis.  I am waiting now to see the gyno/obgyn specialist.  I will be requesting an MRI and any other tests to determine if it is andenomyosis or not.  I have had a lot of spotting and heavy bleeding.  My last period was about 35 days most of which at the beginning is spotting then went to heavy with clots and some pain.  We have been having unprotected intercourse for over a year now with no luck but then again when I am bleeding for so long it makes intercourse impossible...... keep your fingers crossed and pray to the fertility gods for me.....for very many reasons getting preganant means the world to me.  Keep me posted with your situation.....

Funny you should mention that word. Yes you can still have a successful pregnancy. You may need help from a RE but it can happen. You can look it up on the internet. I did and I was relieved. I haven't been diagnosed yet but am having an MRI tomorrow to see if that is what I have. However, I don't bleed hardly at all, I only spot but sometimes it lasts for 2 weeks. My uterus is enlarged and they couldn't find anything with a u/s or transvaginal u/s. I also just had and endometrial biopsy that came back fine. Do the research. It says that it doesn't interfere with fertility. If you didn't have an MRI they could have misdiagnosed you anyway. My DR told me that the MRI was the only way to actually see if it is Ademomyosis. Best of luck to you and let me know how you are doing. I found this so amazing because I just posted this to the ladies on this forum. Check my profile page and you can read what I put.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Sincerely,  Dawn
