Almost 40

Ok, I am 39 and I have a 16 year old son.  I haven't been pregnant in some time.  Although we have considered getting pregnant... but never really tried technically.  Well my last period started on 10/23/2012  It lasted it's usual 5 days.  My ex and I seperated for a while, but we reconciled ironically the same week I ovulate. Well according to the charts I should have been ovulating 11/2-11/8.  We had constant sex during that time period..especially on 4,5 and 6th. although I didn't know that was my ovulation time until after the fact.  I have been tired and irritable with terrible insomnia. Waking at 4 in the morning on a regular.  Well my cycles are usually very regular 28 days and I am trying desperately not to get my hopes up.  On 11/13  I had a pinkish/brown discharge when I wiped..I had never seen before. This happened several times that day. I also noticed a mild irritation..I thought I had a yeast infection.  On 11/16 I felt upset stomach and mild cramping, so I went to bed early. When I awakened on 11/17 at 5am... because I can't seem to sleep soundly.... there was a dark reddish brown thick discharge... scared the sh** outta me!!  As the day progressed I began to spot and then began a red flow. It is now 5 am 11/18 I am awake again and the flow has slowed..... Not as heavy as my regular cycle but definitely not spotting.  I have been getting cramps all day... not as bad a menstrual cramps but definite pains.   My regular cycle isn't expected until 11/20.  Could I be pregnant?    I haven't ever heard of implantation bleeding until now.  Most of the descriptions are light and spotty.....Am I experiencing a miscarriage?  I hope not....

I am currently pegnant now and I experienced implantation bleeding this time. It was 2 weeks after my cycle and it didn;t even last for a whole entire day....only enough 2 wear a panty liner for about half of the day!!! Maybe u should try taking a preg test when it's time for ur cycle. Good Luck and keep us posted!!!

Implantation bleeding is only spotting and not red. There is no way to tell if you are pregnant other than to take a test. It could just be that your cycle is off a little which can happen occasionally. If you are pregnant then red bleeding needs to be reported to your doctor. If it is a miscarriage then you should pass clots and the bleeding will get heavier. I would suggest that you go to the doctor. First step is to find out if you are pregnant or not. Good luck!
