A medication abortion is a pill you take so that it happens naturally, like a miscarriage. I had to do this because of a medical condition I have. I have a tumor called an adenoma in my liver that was caused by birth control pills or being pregnant with my first child. I can no longer take birth control pills and my doctor says it is risky being pregnant as both of these things can cause the tumor to grow which increases the risk of it rupturing. I was only 7 weeks along when I had the medication abortion.
Amanda is right, pulling out will not prevent pregnancy. You could be pregnant again, it's hard to say. I am assuming your Dr. will be doing a second test to see if your HCG levels are rising or falling.
Kelly...I believe a medical abortion is a D&C. The proper name for a miscarriage is abortion, although most don't use that term.
Depending on how far along you were maybe your levels are still up there. Seems high though. If you don't mind me asking, what is a medical abortion?
It takes about 6 weeks for your levels to get back to normal however pulling out is NOT a form of birth control. If I were you I would look into a more reliable method!!
