Anyone taken or plan to take the H1N1 vaccination?

Has anyone taken or been asked to take the swine flu or H1N1 vaccination? My Ob has strongly advised me to take it after my 16 week. I told him I heard about the side effects of the vaccine eg. rashes, skin allergies etc but he told me that the side effects are minimal compared to the complications of the H1N1 virus to the mother and child. he told me seriously that he has seen the pg women who ended up in the ICU and it scares him that he would rather I take the vaccine with the reported side effects than risk getting H1N1. To those who had it, when did you get your vaccine and did you have any side effects?

I had it either Oct. or Nov. last year. (sorry, can't remember exactly)  I know I was over 20 weeks pregnant.  No problems at all except a sore arm for a day or two.  I also had the seasonal flu vaccine, and no problems with that either.  Both were highly recommended by my OB.  Good luck in your decision.

I had the H1N1 flu shot early November at 13 weeks (I am 28 weeks now), I had no side effects at all. I was really relieved to get this shot and it was hard to get it at that time.

I recently wanted to visit the maternity where I'll be delivering my child but visits are forbidden until April 1st and preparation courses are also cancelled because of the severity of this flu on pregnant women.

Thank you all for your replies. It does set my mind at ease that some of you who had the shots had no side effects at all - its great to hear that. I am most likely inclined to take it too but will clarify further with my Ob when I see him at week 17 before taking the shot.

I was advised not to...but it's definitely a personal choice.  I teach and was really  considering getting it anyways.  However, I know was skeptical about the testing done...so I've opted not to....

Got mine after DH was actually diagnosed with H1N1.  He spent two weeks at his moms basically in isolation from me while I went through a whole course of Tamiflu.  I then got my shot three days after finishing the meds.  I am now 26 weeks and little britches is fine and kicking up a storm.

I got my H1N1 shot at the end of October, I was 18w then... I had no problems at all and I was very glad to get it. I teach and I could see more and more students getting sick every day and sincerely I did not want to risk complications with my LO. I am 36w now. Best wishes.

Thank you for your reply. You made me laugh when you said you winced anytime someone sneezed. Its exactly the same that I did. Anytime someone coughed or sneezed I actually flinched (it was an automatic reaction) and then conciously I would move away or hold my breath! LOL! My gf had advised me not to take the H1N1 vaccinatiojn saying we don know whatit will do to the baby and asked me to seek a 2nd OB opinion. I kept reading on the internet about the complications from H1N1 virus itself to us pg women but I didnt read about the complications from the shot itself. but I think people get scared and relate all the complications from the virus itself even to the vaccine. Thats why I came here and asked if anyone has taken it . BTW Annie, when did you have your shot?

I got the H1N1 shot last month and had no side effects.  It cheered me up so much to get it, I had been basically wincing every time anyone sneezed in the grocery store.  I am someone who also got a seasonal flu vaccine at a time when I was pregnant, and had no side effects or issues from it, either.  Unlike other flus, H1N1 (the illness, not the shot) has been very dangerous for pregnant women, so please don't take the threat lightly.  The shot stings a little bit, is all I found.
