CLEAR BLUE EASY MONITOR

All right girls ! I have been thinking about buying this Clear Blue Easy Monitor. The cost of this product is $189.00 and the Test trips are $49.99 for a box. I have checked Walmart,Target,Walgreens as they don't carry it around me. CVS is the only one or you can order on online and pay shipping. So girls what do you think? Help me make my decision !!!!

Nina,

I agree totally with kiki...she was a big help to me when I was going through this same situation. I also use the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor. However, during this cycle I remained on Low for a very long time (very unusual) but after receiving good feedback from  few ladies I decided to purchase the sticks. The sticks detected the surge BEFORE the monitor because I used the sticks later in the day and did not wait to read the monitor the following morning with first morning urine.

I will do that next cycle.....I ovulated VERY LATE this cycle, almost 10 days late so I know AF will not come as it should.....I hope all works out well for you.

Yeah, that saliva microscope was a joke... I had my husband spit on it and it said HE was ovulating! :) Hahaha.

I don't know the name of the cheapies, but if you go to that www.savontests.com site you'll see them (I think they are called "5S Ovulation Tests").  I just bought the regluar strip tests (where you pee in a cup and dip the strip), not the midstream plastic ones or the cassette ones.  They are essentiall the exact same thing, except some people get grossed out peeing in a cup and dipping, so they make those other types in the fancy plastic housing so you don't have to touch the strip. (They are the same ones you get at "Dollar Tree", except you get almost 2 for the same price if you order them online versus in the store, although you have to figure in the shipping... but if you are ordering a bunch, like I did, it still comes out cheaper.)

Incidentally, and NOT that I'm comparing you to an ape mind you :), but when I worked as a Zookeeper for the San Diego Zoo for 10 years, we had to determine the ovulation cycles of our Orangutans and Bonobo Chimps (some were previously on Depo-provera, so we were tracking to see when they'd start ovulating again, and others we were trying to determine their cycles for introducing them to a new male or for artificial insemination).  Anyway, point of my rambling is that even with these expensive and endangered species, we simply used the cheap bulk OPK sticks to determine ovulation.  I'm happy to say that I got to hold my fair share of chimp and orang babies to show for them! :)

I thought about the saliva microscope and was like nah! What were the names of the cheapies you were using. Looks like I'm leaning with staying with opk sticks. I have bought cheapie pregnancy test at the Dollar store and they work great. Thanks for the info.

I just ordered the cheapies off of www.savontests.com with my first and second son, and then some cheapies off of ebay for my current pregnancy.  I also tried using that saliva ovulation predictor microscope where you either see "ferning" or not (it was NOT the most accurate for me.)  Anyway, the cheap OPK's worked great and had a 25mIU/mL sensitivity; these combined with the obvious see/look/feel resulted in my pregnancies every time.  After my 1st son I was breastfeeding and started using OPK's around 6 months (when I introduced some solids), and bingo- got the positive OPK and got pg without ever getting my menses back. Ditto for my current pregnancy with my 3rd son- no period, just a positive OPK and resulting pregnancy.  The cheapies ran about $0.55 each, so when I thought I was getting close (purple line was getting darker), I didn't feel bad about "wasting" a few by testing several times throughout the day.
