Can I be pregnant at 47

On March 21 I had unprotected sex for the first time in many years (we did not notice that the condom was broken). It was the day after the last day of a normal period (bleeding stopped on March 20). It has now been four weeks and every night before bed I get a bitter taste in my mouth, and I feel nauseous and gassy. I have had what I believe to be a period that started on April 10. What is troubling is that I have read that it could have been vaginal bleeding rather than an actual menstrual cycle. Per the article, the fetus attaching to the uterus wall causes some women to have vaginal bleeding. I am 47 and about to be a grandmother for the first time; so I am a little frightened, but still excited. I just want to know the odds of getting pregnant a day after your cycle stops and at 47 years of age.

I would say the odds are slim, not based on your age but the fact that you had sex right after your period.

The odds are less then if you were 30 of course. BUT there still is a chance. Though being it right after your period not as likely. Was the April period LIGHT? IF it was implantation you could take a test now.

Anythings possible, I would go get a test, then you'll know!
All my best to you,
