Copper IUD and cycle is changing after a year?

I am getting a little concerned. I have a Copper T IUD in place. It has been in for a year. Over the last three months my period has been starting later and later. I was suprisingly very regular after having it put in. Was starting on the 1st of 2nd of each month. But in July i started on the 6th. Then in August it was the 9th. Now in September today is the 13th and nothing has happened yet. I usually have cramping for about two days before I start my cycle but that hasn't happened either. The last two periods also weren't as heavy as they usually are.  I am scared to death that it could actually be possible that I could be pregnant. I have two girls already and really didn't want anymore children. I am engaged to be married next summer and my fiance really doesn't want any more children either. I haven't told him yet that this is possible because I don't want to freak him out. I would be totally devastated if I found out that I was  but I imagine that I would eventually get past the shock and disappointment and accept and love the new baby. So to my question now. How long should I wait before taking a test and has anyone else had their cycle change like this after having the IUD in for a year?

my first response to you is get that thing out of your body
the copper T-IUD gave me so many health problems after 4 years of having it in I ended up removing it myself I'm going to suggest to you that you go on YouTube and look up videos women have made about the side effects they suffered from the copper T
And have your fiance get a vasectomy

Did you test?  My cycles used to be 28 days and I'm currently on day 31.  I know it doesn't seem like too many days to be late, but I'm getting concerned that I might be pregnant.  I have the copper IUD too and I'm really hoping that it's just messing with me somehow.  I'll be getting a test just as soon as I can, we're currently snowed in!!

The copper IUD shouldn't change your cycle length. It has no hormones. I had it for years two different times and did have a slightly heavier period but not irregular. I would be concerned about pregnancy as well and would take a test now. It wouldn't be too early. Let us know what you find out. Also, if you are having cycle concerns you could speak with your doctor. It is highly unlikely that any changes in your cycle are caused by the copper IUD. Good luck.

mine has changed.. it is very much lighter now and I usually go on the 10th but now it is the 13th and I started today...  I don't think you should worry but I do think you can test at any time if you are late
