Cost of IVF

hey ladies.....do you guys know what is the average cost of IVF if we use my own eggs and sperms?  If we use donor's eggs, how much it will cost more?  Somebody mentioned to me it is at least $10,000 for a try.

Thanks very much!

We paid $12,000 for IVF w/out donor eggs the 1st time - that included meds which are very expensive.  For the donor eggs, we paid between $18-19,000.  That included the donor's compensation for time fee as well as all of the meds.  As you can see, the prices vary from clinic to clinic - good luck!!

We paid around 25,000 for IVF with donor eggs. Part of the cost was a free 2nd try if the donor eggs did not take the first time. I got pregnant with the first attempt and now have 13 frozen embryo's left. Only 8 weeks left for me! Good luck.

The cost of ivf depends greatly on your protocol since for us the meds were the most expensive part.  I was taking Gonal-F which is probably most expensive FSH drug.  If you will be taking follistim, your meds will cost significantly less.

Heres the breakdown of my costs (I keep all paperwork for tax exemption):
Meds: $4500  (ouch!!)
Surgical fees:
retrieval: $1500
Transfer: $685
IVF lab charges: $3740 (this is w/o ICSI). With icsi you will be paying much more
Hospital charges:
retrieval: $1575
transfer: $596
Anesthesia for retrieval: $400

My insurance paid for u/s visits and blood work.
I hope this helps!!  Like I said, ivf costs vary quite a bit across clinics and protocols.

Donor eggs will cost you 10K or more since you pay the donor and the clinic for the service.

Good luck!
