Dizziness/fainting -- possible causes?

Hi all, I was just sitting at my computer and I felt a funny feeling in my stomach and then I felt a whoosh rise up through my head -- I was about to pass out!  I threw myself to the ground and it abated, but also the other day I felt nauseous.  I had my baby three months ago and am breastfeeding and pumping -- could this be the cause?  I don't think I could be pregnant again -- I'm 42 and I'm breastfeeding.  Maybe I'm just overdoing it?  Your thoughts are appreciated because I'm pretty freaked out.

It is good that you are having nutritious food. What about Carbohydrates? Do you get enough? I know fainting is usually due to sugar level drop.

I eat well -- regular nutritious meals and plenty of water.  I had just finished a snack.  Too weird.  I feel better now, but I'll have to wait and see if it happens again tomorrow.

Sugar level dropped in your blood? Do you eat well? Breast feeding consumes energy!!

It could be from hormones or if you aren't getting enough nutrition/hydration it can cause this as well.

As AnnieBrooke said, you can't rule out pregnancy either.  I got pregnant with my 3rd child when my 2nd was BF'ing and 5 months old.

It sounds like your body is making hormonal adjustments after the baby's birth.  Don't rule out pregnancy if you are having unprotected sex, but as you say with your breastfeeding status it is less likely.
