Thank you everyone for your answers. I miscarried this morning, however.
Agree with adgal and happynifer. When I was pregnant with my dd, my OB/GYN did an ultrasound at 6 1/2 weeks and did not measure HCG. Recently, with this pregnancy - I am 5 weeks 2 days or so - I asked my RE to measure my HCG and she said she would if I wanted to but that the #s quit doubling at some point and now they just want to see them rise.
I'm surprised your dr said she still wanted to see them doubling. Sounds like you have nothing to worry about.
Best of luck!
HCG levels doubling time slows down at around 1200. As they get higher, the doubling time can increase dramatically. Yours are doing what is normal..no cause for concern at all. And, as happynifer said, they can most definatly do an ultrasound now which is far more conclusive then hcg levels. But yes, for them to have only risen they way they did at this stage is very normal.
Good luck!!
they should be able to do an ultrasound at this point. i know the numbers stop doubling at some point, but my RE stopped measuring them much earlier than that so i don't know.
have they scheduled you for a scan?
