salams , im Muslim and 17 weeks pregnant and am not fasting cuz i just dnt feel like its ok for baby hving nothing to eat and drink for such long periods of time day in day out , but there is a strong opinion amongst scholars that pregnant or breastfeeding women are excempted from fasting ; though i find some people still judge me for nit fasting wich i dont think is fair!

I'd do a test, if your pregnant fasting could deny your baby vital nutrients and cause problems, then you'd feel guilty. Have faith, do the test just to be safe as you may not have any morning sickness plus fasting can delay your periods x good luck x

Oh wow.. thats really a good news for u.. :) yeah i was obsessed of getting pregnant.. i took test again n again n it came out negative.. Last may, i had a miscarriage at 6 weeks.. Not sure if i was actually pregnant or my period was actually late at that moment... i gave up since then n had my period as usual in june.. from 9th to 15th june... and right now, my period has still not come.. i don want to hope so much now so im not thinking of being pregnant n will continue to fast till my period comes.. Or maybe till my morning sickness comes..

If you're not sure whether you're pregnant or not, keep testing. I don't know how late your period is at this moment but some pregnancy tests are sensitive enough to show early, even before your period. I wish you all the best.
I don't know if this will help you at all but when I tried to get pregnant and it wasn't happening, I wanted to cry every time I got my period. One day my husband told me not to obsess about it because we have to believe  that everything in life happens at the right time. We just don't know when that is.... Anyway, I decided to stay healthy, take my vitamins and I stopped 'obsessing', as hard as it was. I focused on my work and helping my family and friends. I took my mind off the baby and after a few months I didn't even notice that my period was 8 days late! I'm 37 yrs old and 27 weeks pregnant. We are having a boy!
I never went to any fertility specialist as I wanted to give mother nature a chance.
Good luck to you!

Funnily enough when I got pregnant, it was during Lent, so maybe you'll get your wish, too!

I'm not Muslim but my friend is. She was not fasting during her pregnancy and postpartum because she was breast feeding. Fasting is dangerous for the baby because he or she doesn't get enough nutrients. Besides, fasting will make you feel weak and dizzy. I think deep down you know all this...

Im not Muslim but a strict Catholic (old law) and pregnant and nursing women and children under 18 dont have to fast because they are still growing and need the nutrients to support their bodies. Friday is our meatless day and I kind of rub it in....mean, I know.
