Mistake in vitamins? Have been taking **** Quai without realizing...

So, now I'm a little nervous. I was just looking at the empty bottle of my "prenatal" vitamins to make sure I get the same ingredients, percentages, etc. in the next bottle (in case they don't have the same brand) and I realized that it's not a prenatal, but a women's plus multi-vitamin and it has a concoction of **** in it, including **** quai and red clover.

I've taken the whole bottle, so it's not like I can stop or anything, but I've read that **** quai can cause the uterus to contract and therefore, miscarry.  Is there anything that I can do to 'reverse' the effects of it? Do you think that it would have caused whatever problems it was going to cause by now and I'll be okay?

Do you have a recommendation for an OTC prenatal?

I feel so stupid. and scared.

I fully agree with Amanda.  Stop beating yourself up! I seriously doubt any harm was done.

Wal-Mart has a great selection of otc prenatals. I really like the one made by Nature's Valley. It is pretty gentle on your belly.  I am currently taking a Rx called PreNexa and I love it! The only reasons I am taking a Rx is because a little girl that I teach her mom is a NICU nurse and she gives me the vitamins for free otherwise I would be taking otc.

Calm down lady all will be well!

I honestly wouldn't worry, you are so early it's highly unlikely there will be any problems.  However, still a good idea to mention it to your OB.  I don't think there is any way to reverse the effects, but being that the dosage of the **** quai would be so minimal, I truly wouldn't worry.  To set your mind at ease, take the bottle to the pharmacsit and ask him or her.  They are so knowlegable about all drugs and vitamins.

As for a good prenatal, anything that is high in folic acid should be fine.  I have compared many brands and found the contents to be very similar if not identical.

Don't beat yourself up ok.  I highly doubt this is anything overly serious.
