Fertitlity Medicaton combined with intercourse only

Has anyone used fertiltity medication to help produce and release mature eggs with time intercourse? This is my first time trying to concieve with my new RE and he already seems to more thourough than the last one but I would like to know if any has had success with this method

I had 9 cycles of help from the fertility clinic.    I went to them over a year, but could only do 9 cycles due to cysts forming from the medications, so I needed to take a few months off as breaks.

Out of those 9 cycles using femara and injectible gonal-f I had 5 IUI's.    All cycles with IUI's had at least 9 nice follies.......no pg....ever.

After 2 IUI's, we had a bad ice storm and couldn't make it in December 24 for our IUI....we used timed intercourse at home and got pg.....hmmmmmmm, had a m/c unfortunately at 7 weeks.

Did 2 more IUI's with meds....nothing

Tried another timed intercourse at home and....got pg again......unfortunately another m/c

Had another IUI....nothing.

Then had to take 3 cycles off for cysts.       Got rid of cysts, started medication and told dr. I was done with IUI's as they produced no results.   He tried to convince me once again that my odds were better with IUI....hmmm, really.....got pg again with timed intercourse and am now 13 weeks pregnant with a healthy perfect little boy.

The only month I did not get pg with timed intercourse was our very first month at the fertility clinic before I had started the meds.

So out of 9 cycles with them

5 IUI's - produced nothing
4 cycles with timed intercourse - produced 3 pregnancies.

You do the math :)

I got the results of my beta test today and it was a BFP!!!!!!!!! Good luck all and lots of baby dust!!!!

Ladies,

The most unbeleivable thing has happened!!!!!! I stopped using the progesterone inserts as instructed by my RE's nurse and have been wating for my period to start. Well it still hasn't started and since I have a massive headache (which I usually get before every period) I decided to take a pregnancy test and got a BFP!!!!!!! I don't understand what's happening but I go for my beta test tomorrow!!!!!!

Well Ladies,

I got a call from my RE's office and it appears that my progesterone levels were low. That means that I am more than likely not pregnant. It's strange because I've been using the Endometrin (progesterone inserts). I'm very confused. :-(

It worked for me!  Twice!!!!  I was prescribed Femara and it worked both times!  We'll be trying again shortly....Just want to wait for my lttle guy to get a bit bigger, he's only 4 months old :)

@BLS1971...That's great news!!!! I hope I will share the same fate. It's been 10 days since i used my trigger shot. I am now using progesterone inserts. I don't want to psyche myself out but i swaer I feel a little nausus and bloated. I hope that I'm pregnant. Keep your fingers crossed for me :-).

I'm happy to report that I conceived on my first cycle with Clomid (50 mg). I used nothing else, other than well-timed intercourse, and now I'm expecting. Best wishes and SSBD to you!  =)

We were told that my husband couldnt have kids.  3 different tests said his numbers were very low. They said it is possible, but we may need "assistance".  I also rarely ovulate on my own.  (maybe get a period 4 times a year if I am lucky)...So we are/were challenged.  I have a daughter from a previous 10 yrs old.  We then "somehow" had a surprise of our life when almost 3 yrs ago, I found out I wa pregnant with our son.  Doc was amazed. We werent trying, but NEVER thought about children and thought life was great with just us and my daughter.  now, we have 2. A year went by and we started talking more about kids and decided we DID want one more.  (sionce there was a 11 yr gap between our kids, we wanted 1 more closer in age for a few different reasons)  We both went to the doc and doc said..."well, you never know."  The bigger issue was me since I dont ovulate. Doc put me on Clomid 50mg for 3 rounds.  I got pregnant and we lost that one at 6 weeks.  We tried again on Clomid and nothing.  I didnt even ovulate.  Doc up'ed this to 100mg.  We did NOTHING else. No shots, not extra med...NOTHING.  We got a + test the first month.  I just went in for our first ultrasound on Friday, just to see if this one will "stick'...and much to our surprise...TWINS.  We are still not out of the water yet.  one was measuring bigger than the other, but we got 2 good HBs.  
So....YES, it IS possible!!! We have the odds stacked against us and somehow we pulled it out.   We are hoping all is still in there in 4 weeks for another test.  As of now, a waiting game.  Good Luck to you!!!

I got pregnant with 1st daughter on clomid and timed intercourse but it took 3 months, so be positive if it doesn't happen the 1st month.  2nd daughter clomid for 3 months and nothing then bumped up to injectables I think I got pregnant on the 3rd month then too.  Good Luck!

Thanks. With my last RE i used clomid, progesterone and the hgc shot combined with failed IUI's (3). This time i was on all injectables...follustim, ganerelix and the htc shot with timed intercourse. I hope we both get a BFP this month.
